Since 2013, September 30th has been observed as Orange Shirt Day across the country to honour the healing journey of residential school survivors, and bring awareness to the need for reconciliation. Canadians are encouraged to wear orange shirts to commemorate the Indigenous children who were forcibly taken from their homes and placed in residential schools. The government recently passed legislation making September 30th a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Although Shalom's office will remain open on September 30th to serve our clients, we join in recognizing and commemorating the legacy of residential schools.

Shalom Counselling Centre offers quality counselling for individuals, couples, families and groups dealing with a wide range of emotional and relational concerns.

Our office will be closed for counselling starting Thursday December 24th to Monday January 4th inclusive. We will also be closed after 1:00pm on Wednesday December 23rd. We would like to wish each and everyone of you a wonderful holiday season.
