Rob McLaren has been connected with Shalom Counselling Centre since its earliest days, serving in a variety of roles including board member, MC and speaker at fundraising events, donor, and occasional client.
He is passionate about Shalom’s mission of providing professional and affordable counselling services to individuals, couples, and families throughout Central Alberta. Rob values collaboration, community partnerships, and creating meaningful support systems that strengthen emotional wellness and resilience within the community.
Rob brings 38 years of leadership experience in Red Deer, including work in youth development, teaching, organizational leadership, and community care. He lives in Red Deer with his wife and has raised their four children there. He is recognized as a thoughtful and collaborative leader with strengths in strategic planning, board governance, relationship building, and organizational development.
