Although clients are often referred by professionals such as doctors, pastors, educators or employers, a professional referral is not required.
People are welcome to phone Shalom directly, requesting counselling on their own behalf. Shalom's phone number is (403) 342-0339.
Your information will be treated in a compassionate and professional manner, safeguarding your privacy.
Some basic information will be gathered over the phone. The receptionist will arrange for you to receive a Background Information Form (PDF) for each person participating in the counselling.
When you have completed and returned your background information, we will be able to determine which of our counsellors would be best suited to work with you on your concerns.
Shalom's receptionist will then contact you to arrange your first appointment. First appointments are generally an hour and a half in length.
If for some reason you are unable to keep your appointment we ask that, if possible, you provide us at least 24 hours notice to cancel or rebook.
Counselling is provided by appointment only. In order to ensure high quality care we do not offer counselling services by telephone, online, or on a drop-in basis.
